Our School

Since opening in the fall of 2007 with approximately 800 students, Perry has become a prime destination for students from around the East Valley, with a student body that consistently averages 2,500 students yearly. Centered around Academics, Athletics, and Activities, we are a well-rounded and active community of learners. Students have a wide variety of subjects and courses to choose from, including Career and Technical Education, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment, to Drawing/Painting, Psychology, and Dance. We have 90+ student-led clubs on campus yearly, with many of them being community or service-driven. Others are just plain FUN! Our men’s/women’s athletic teams are consistently in the conversation for state championships and often recognized not only for their endeavors on the field or court, but in the classroom as well.

 

Recognized by the state as an excelling school since its inception, Perry distinguishes itself by providing an enriched environment where students can develop Pride in themselves, their school, and their community; where they can demonstrate Progress in their ability to think critically in a technologically advanced society; and where they can realize their Purpose as responsible citizens.

Perry High Highlights

Qualified for State Men’s: Cross Country, Football, Golf (State Runner Up), Swim, Basketball (Open State Champions), Soccer (6A State Runner Up), Wrestling, Baseball, Track & Field, Tennis, Volleyball (State Champions).

Qualified for State Women’s: Badminton, Cross Country, Golf, Swim & Dive, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, Tennis, Cheer (Show Cheer and All-Girl Stunt State Champions, and Game Day State Runner Up), Softball, Track and Field.

Fine Arts: The Arizona State Seal of Arts Proficiency, 42 artists earned a state seal, and 4 artists earned a double seal. Honors Societies for the various Fine Art Programs. NHSDA- National Honor Society. ITS- Society for Dance Arts. TRI-M- Music International Thespian Society. NAHS- National Art Honors Society for Art- Sculpture, Photography, and Art Perry. 49 students were inducted into a Fine Arts Honors Society. 

Perry Band: Tri-M collectively engaged in 460 hours of community service. The Puma Regiment earned the AzMBA 2A State Championship, their second Championship win in three years. Eight Band students successfully auditioned for the Southwest Regional Honor Band. Four students went on to perform with the Arizona All-State Band. Jazz Band earned a place at the ABODA State Jazz Festival. The Concert, Symphonic, and Jazz Bands traveled to New York City to perform with local musicians.

Perry Orchestra:  Five Perry Orchestra students successfully auditioned for and participated in the 2025 Southwest Regional Orchestra. Two of those students made it into the 2025 Arizona All-State Orchestra held at Northern Arizona University. The Perry Chamber Orchestra received a "Superior with Distinction" rating at the ABODA Fall Orchestra adjudicated festival in Phoenix. Perry Orchestra students performed for Enclave and Clarendale assisted living facilities multiple times. They also participated in the Disneyland "Studio Session" performance/educational program.

CTE: Three HOSA Sports Medicine members at the International Leadership Conference. Two 1st Place finishers in FBLA Regional competitions in Digital Photography. Two Culinary students were awarded cash scholarships for a National cooking competition. PHS DECA Scholarship Program, Gold Certification for the Student Based Enterprise (Food) & Silver Certification for the Student Based Enterprise (Retail), 2 DECA Emerging Leaders and 27 Rise Sales & Service Certifications.

STEM Diploma Program: (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Directed towards promoting the importance of high school achievement and the value of rigorous course work. A Stem Diploma and Stem Scholar Diploma are offered. Finalist in the Regeneron Science Talent Search, Super Bowl Host Committee-Top STEM schools in AZ and Expect More Arizona Spotlight STEM program.

Clubs: Over 100 diverse extracurricular activities for all students.

Advanced Placement (AP).  There are 27 AP courses are offered in English 11, English 12, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Principles, Computer Science A, Physics 1, Physics C, Environmental Science, Spanish 4, Spanish 5, French 4, French 5, German 4, German 5, Psychology, Studio Art 2D, Drawing, Studio Art 3D, Art History, United States History, Human Geography, Government & Constitution, World History, European History and Macroeconomics.

Honors classes are offered in English 9, English 10, Geometry, Algebra 2, Brief Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, French, German, and Spanish. Eleven honors classes are offered.

Dual Enrollment enables students to enroll in freshman college courses and earn college credits at local institutions of higher education. Course offerings at Perry include: Math, Chemistry, Human Biology, Physics, Spanish, French, American Sign Language, Government, Graphics Arts, and Culinary Arts. Approximately 350 students earned an average of 28.6 college credit hours through the 47 Dual Enrollment classes in the 2024-2025 school year.

Advanced Placement (AP) Results:  In May 2025, 450 students took an AP course. 804 exams were given, with 515 exams scoring a 3 or higher.
