Principal Patterson
Dear Puma Nation,
Welcome to Perry High School, Home of the Pumas!
I'm thrilled to officially introduce myself as your principal. My name is Heather Patterson, and I'm a proud Arizona native, having graduated from Northern Arizona University. My husband and I have been married for 29 years, and all three of our children are products of Chandler Unified Schools.
This year marks my 24th as an educator, and I've been a part of the Perry family since 2008. I've had the privilege of serving in two leadership roles on campus: first as Perry's Activities Principal and, most recently, as Assistant Principal, focusing on Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment. As the daughter of lifelong educators, I have immense respect for the teaching profession. Having spent so many years at Perry, I've seen firsthand the incredible dedication and hard work of our staff. They consistently rise to any challenge, supported by our wonderful community. I truly take immense pride in Perry High School and the community we serve.
Guiding Our Students to Success
High school is a pivotal time in a student's life. The education they receive and the relationships they form during these four years will undoubtedly guide them toward post-secondary success. At Perry High, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive learning environment where every student is treated with dignity and respect. We know the progress our students make here will be significant.
We offer robust academic programs in English, math, science, world languages, and social studies, with honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Enrollment (DE) options. We're also proud to be the only high school in CUSD to offer STEM and STEM Scholar diplomas. Our Fine Arts and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Departments are equally strong, consistently recognized as some of the top programs in the state and nation. Our Counseling Department provides essential support for both the academic and emotional needs of our students, and our Special Education Department ensures individualized education plans and support for every student on an IEP. Beyond academics, our athletic programs are highly competitive, regularly making deep runs into the post-season. We also support more than 80 active clubs on campus, providing countless opportunities for students to get involved. I truly hope your students will find a connection, become actively engaged, and discover their purpose here at Perry High School.
Partnering for the Future
As we embark on this next chapter with your student(s), please know that my door is always open. As Perry's Principal, I am deeply committed to building upon the solid foundation laid by our alumni, teachers, administration, staff, and incredible community.
I am excited to see all that our Pumas will achieve this year, and I encourage them to embrace every opportunity Perry High has to offer.
Sincerely,
Heather Patterson Principal
