Dear Dual Enrollment Students and Parents, 

Perry High School DE teachers will assist students with the registration process and provide information through their respective classes once school begins in July. The application process is done completely online, and students may begin to register beginning August 1st. The process is different for new and returning students; please follow the link based on the status of your student. 

Perry High School provides many DE offerings. We do not anticipate any changes to this list of courses and instructors; however, change is always possible.  Please use this link as a guide for your student's schedule and DE credit availability as well as the pre-requisites required for students to enroll in the various DE classes.  

In most cases, Juniors and Seniors may use their PHS unweighted GPA or passing ACT/SAT scores to meet the pre-requisite requirements for DE classes.   

Underclassmen (Freshman, Sophomore) must meet the pre-requirements needed for DE by testing with EdReady.  EdReady is a placement test that can be taken online in the student's home.  Dual Enrollment will use four possible Ed Ready placement tests: 

EdReady English is used for ENG101.

EdReady Quantitative Reasoning, Alg and Stats Placement is for placement into MAT140, MAT141, or MAT142.
EdReady College Algebra Placement is for placement into MAT150, MAT151, MAT152 and MAT187.

EdReady Critical Reading and Critical Thinking is used to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program (if you have no other testing) and BIO181.

Once new students (and underclassmen) have registered for CGCC, they may take the appropriate EdReady tests.

Step 1 – Get Admitted

1. Create student account
2. Select a college -choose Chandler Gilbert Community College
3. When you finish your application, you will receive:
   • MEID (User ID)
   • CGCC Student ID Number (this is NOT your Perry ID number!)
   • Maricopa email

If you ever need to log in to the next steps form - use your newly established MEID#@maricopa.edu

Step 2 – Dual Enrollment Next Steps Form

This form must be completed by September 13, 2024 for fall and yearlong classes and by February 7, 2025 for spring classes.

Please note – during the online registration process, all steps must be followed, and all information required must be provided. The online process will ask you to upload a copy of a driver's license, passport, OR the student’s birth certificate (a PHS ID must accompany the birth certificate) as proof of identity. 

Once the new student has successfully created a Maricopa account (an MEID), received a CGCC student ID number, and completed all information online, the college will email the student within 5-7 business days and invite the student to register for classes. No student can register for DE classes until the email from CGCC arrives. If you have made any errors on the Next Step forms or if you have not provided all the requested information, you will not receive an email.

If you have successfully completed the registration, you will receive an email from dualenrollment@cgc.edu on how to add classes once your information has been verified. Then you will return to your account and add your classes.

Step3-Pay Tuition

Tuition is due the day you enroll. You will be dropped for non-payment without notice. You can pay tuition, or sign up for the payment plan in your Student Center.

Tuition assistance is available from the Maricopa Tuition Assistance Grant for those who qualify. Tuition Assistance Application is open until September 13, 2024. 

Fall and yearlong classes: Enrollment and refund deadline is September 13, 2024

For spring classes: Enrollment and refund deadline is February 7, 2025

• RETURNING STUDENTS to Dual Enrollment: 

  Return to your student portal at my.maricopa.edu and review your student information.  If you are a Junior, please report your unweighted gpa.  You should automatically receive a letter from CGCC inviting you to enroll in DE classes for this year.  You can register for your classes in your student portal. 

  Once you register for classes, you must pay tuition within 24 hours.

  You must be enrolled and have paid for your classes by September 13, 2024.

2025-2026 Dual Enrollment Class List

PAYMENT (or payment plan selection) must be made immediately upon registering.  If payment is not made within 24 hours, the student will be dropped from the class(es) and the student will have to re-enroll. 

Registration/Payment deadlines:
August 1: Registration Opens
September 13th: Fall Enrollment and Payment Due
February 7th: Spring Enrollment and Payment Due

Maricopa Tuition Assistant Grant: 
Application Due by August 31st

$97.00 / credit, with a $15.00 registration fee per semester

Payment can be made online at my.maricopa.edu, over the phone at 480-732-7312 or in person at the Chandler Gilbert Community College, Coyote Center.

It is strongly encouraged that students pay online in order to avoid long wait times in person or over the phone.

Once you have created a CGCC account, register for the EdReady test(s) on the CGCC's Dual Enrollment website.  Once you have reached the website do the following:

1. Select the blue Go To My EdReady Account button. You will be directed to the Maricopa login page.
2. Enter your MEID and password to log in.
3. Choose the placement assessment you would like to take first. If you don’t see the placement goals, select Show All Goals.
4. Select Go to Goal.
5. Select Start Test Now.
6. Take the assessment. You will be given your score and study path once you are finished.
7. If you didn’t get the score needed for the course you want to take, continue working on the study path in EdReady to improve your score.
8. Repeat steps 4-8 for each EdReady assessment you need for placement

Juniors and Seniors may not need to take a placement test if they have a qualifying GPA or standardized test score.   Please refer to the Class List of Perry offerings and look at the prerequisites.  If you do not qualify for the class based on gpa - determine what EdReady Placement test is needed.

Juniors and Seniors must upload their transcripts on the Next Steps form.  New Freshmen and Sophomores will need to take a placement test to take a Dual Enrollment class.

To upload documents, report GPA, or modify any information, log into your Maricopa Community College account using your MEID number and password.
