Badminton

Perry High School is pleased to announce Ms. Ashley Rodarte as the new head badminton coach. 2026-27 will be Coach Rodarte's first year as a head badminton coach.

Coach Rodarte began her badminton career at Perry High School, where she established herself as one of the most accomplished athletes in program history. During her varsity career, she was a three-time Arizona Division I State Doubles Champion and contributed to four Arizona Interscholastic Association Team State Championships, three as a varsity athlete and one as an assistant coach. She earned Doubles Section Player of the Year honors for three consecutive seasons, was named First Team All-Region multiple times, and received two Arizona Central Player of the Year nominations. She was also selected repeatedly to the All-CUSD First Team Doubles, reflecting consistent excellence at the highest level of competition.

In addition to her athletic success, Coach Rodarte was recognized as a Dr. Voie Stuart Chase Coy Scholar-Athlete, highlighting her commitment to excellence both academically and athletically.

Following high school, Coach Rodarte continued her athletic career at Arizona Christian University, where she competed collegiately and further developed her understanding of high-level training, competition, leadership, and team culture. Since transitioning into high school coaching, she has helped lead programs to state titles, runner-up finishes, and consistent top-three placements, while working with athletes across varsity, junior varsity, and developing levels.

Coach Rodarte is passionate about building technically sound, disciplined, and confident badminton players. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, accountability, competitive composure, and creating a positive team environment where athletes are challenged to grow both on and off the court.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as the head badminton coach at Perry High School. My goal is to help athletes develop confidence, embrace the process of improvement, and build habits that extend beyond badminton. Badminton has shaped who I am, and I’m excited to give back to the next generation of players.”

Football

Perry High School is pleased to announce Mr. Jeremy Hathcock as the new head football coach. 2026-27 will be Coach Hathcock's 25^th year as a head football coach.

Coach Hathcock is a proven winner with over 160 career victories and a reputation for rebuilding programs. He began his head coaching career at Show Low High School, where he led the team to a state championship and the only perfect record in school history. For his efforts, he was named the Arizona Republic Coach of the Year and received multiple conference honors.

Following his success at Show Low, Coach Hathcock spent 15 years at Desert Ridge High School, transforming it into a state powerhouse. Under his leadership, the program achieved national rankings twice, made multiple semifinal and state championship appearances, and earned him East Valley Coach of the Year honors from the Tribune. He then returned to his alma mater, Blue Ridge High School, serving as both Athletic Director and Head Coach, where he led the program to a 9-3 record and its second playoff win in a decade.

Most recently, Coach Hathcock led Verrado High School to a region title and a state semifinal appearance. He then joined the staff at Mesa High School, helping guide them to the state quarterfinals with notable wins over many strong 6A programs.

Coach Hathcock’s goal is to build Perry into a nationally recognized program. “Perry High School is one of the best jobs in Arizona,” Hathcock said. “With the great administrative support in place, we can build this program into a state powerhouse. It is my goal to build toughness and character by helping players become the best versions of themselves in the classroom and on the field.”
