Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available at convocation venues. An accessibility placard or license plate is required to park in these areas. For more information about accessible parking, please contact  ASU Parking and Transportation Services online or at 480-965-6407.  For the Ceremonies on the Tempe Campus, click the venue where the ceremony is located and you will be provided the ADA Courtesy Shuttle Map which illustrates all the ADA parking options.

After the Ceremony

Be advised: Multiple convocation ceremonies and celebrations will take place May 10-17 on all campuses in addition to other events occurring in the same general areas. If you attend a convocation ceremony on the Tempe campus and plan to enjoy campus or visit the surrounding area afterward, please move your car to a location outside of Lot 59 (Desert Financial Arena) or Lot 3 (ASU Gammage Auditorium). This will allow other families and friends attending other events at these locations to find convenient parking. We encourage guests to check out the local shops and restaurants in Downtown Tempe, which have a wide variety of parking options available.

Large attendance at ceremonies in Desert Financial Arena and Mountain America Stadium will create traffic around these venues. Exiting parking lots and parking structures will be delayed. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated. 

ASU CLEAR BAG POLICY - APPROVED BAGS

What is the Clear Bag Policy?
To enhance public safety and make stadium access more efficient, Sun Devil Athletics adopted a Clear Bag Policy. Fans may bring in one (1) clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" or a 1-gallon plastic storage bag. Fans are limited to one clear bag per person, along with a small clutch or purse for privacy. Please refer to the pictures above for non-approved bags.

Seniors will be given Cords/Stoles/Hoods if the student meets the requirements. 

Please have your senior student see their sponsor for more information.  

All CUSD high schools will be using the Cum Laude recognition program. This will replace the concept of designating a valedictorian and salutatorian at graduation. This recognition program will be used to acknowledge the most academically successful students at graduation. More of our outstanding seniors will be recognized than the valedictorian/salutatorian concept allowed. The categories for distinction under the Cum Laude recognition program are as follows:

• Summa Cum Laude - meaning "with the highest praise". To qualify, a student must achieve a 4.5 - 5.0 GPA, gold tassel.

• Magna Cum Laude - meaning "with great praise". To qualify, a student must achieve a 4.25 - 4.49 GPA, silver tassel.

• Cum Laude - meaning "with praise". To qualify, a student must achieve a 3.75 - 4.24 GPA, white tassel.

An important tradition at the closing of a graduation ceremony is to move the tassel on our cap from the right side to the left.  

This act symbolizes the PRIDE we have in our achievement, the PROGRESS we have made in four years at Perry High School and the beginning of a new PURPOSE as we embark on the next chapter in our lives.
